Overview

Provides significant work experience related to the student’s field of study.  Assesses the student’s technical knowledge, creativity, interpersonal skills, work habits and fit for full-time employment upon graduation.

 

Perform varied electromechanical assembly line preparation activities for New Product Introduction/Development (NPD) under the guidance of Project Manufacturing Engineering Manager.  Design and prove out Poke Yoke assembly aids and design full proof processes under guidance.  Assist in oversight of developmental builds and bug corrections.

Responsibilities

  • The incumbent will work closely with the NPD Project Engineer. 
  • The position will develop fixtures under guidance and perform proof of concept validation for fixtures. 
  • Position performs final line equipment validation inclusive of gauge R&R on all unique fixtures and critical line equipment. 
  • Role will create Operational Methods Sheets – Visual Aides (OMS/VA)/Standard work documentation specific to each development build and the final set of instructions at product release. 
  • Position requires knowledge of and base line skill in CAD tool, specifically Creole (ProE) Solid modeling. 
  • Agile PLM knowledge a plus, but on the job training will be provided.  Incumbent will create all required Agile PLM identities for final line documentation inclusive of unique fixture specifications and first release OMS document set.

Qualifications

  • Completion of 3 years of engineering coursework preferably with an emphasis in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Technologies
  • No experience required
