    The purpose of this internship is to prepare college juniors and seniors for entry into the business world by providing a thorough understanding of the various functions of the Zebra Technologies organization to include theory and practical application of attained knowledge.

     

    Project work will differ in each area depending on business needs, and all interns will participate in the US Zebra Internship Program. The program is designed to provide you with a full experience so that you can fully envision a career with Zebra. You be positioned for success with training, exposure to all parts of the business, social activities, a professional mentor relationship and development sessions to help you discover your own performance edge!

     

    The RF Engineering Department is part of Zebra Technologies' Enterprise Visibility and Mobility (EVM) Division.  EVM develops highly ruggedized handheld mobile computer products used for Enterprise Mobility-based applications that contain a whole host of RF/wireless technologies, each paired with their associated embedded antennas - these devices are used for both indoor and outdoor mission-critical Enterprise applications to improve Customer productivity through realtime access to collected data at the point of activity.  The RF Engineering Department is focused on the specification, conceptualization, development, and certification of each of the required radio technologies and their associated antenna system solutions for these products in Zebra's exciting product portfolio.

    Responsibilities

    This is a position for an RF/Wireless Engineering Intern to work hands-on with our Engineering Product Development Team.  The RF/Wireless Engineering Intern
    will be given exciting assignments in support of our product development efforts; working on RF design & analysis, HW prototyping, troubleshooting and testing of
    wireless-enabled devices and RF subsystems that will be both challenging and very rewarding.

     

    Specific Knowledge/Skills:

    • Basic knowledge of electronics
    • Basic troubleshooting skills & experience
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications (i.e., Word, Excel, etc.)
    • Good verbal & written presentation skills
    • Motivated to learn new technologies and skills
    • Prior internship experience in the electronics industry is highly desired

    Qualifications

    • Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program in a discipline related to the project specifics. If an undergraduate, must be at the junior or senior level.
    • Currently pursuing either a BSEE or MSEE degree
    • Intellectual curiosity with a strong desire to learn and grow
    • Proven leadership and excellence in professional, academic and/or extracurricular experiences
    • Strong problem-solving abilities
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Ability to collaborate as part of a team
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, & PowerPoint)
    • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship
