  • Overview

    The purpose of this internship is to prepare college juniors and seniors for entry into the business world by providing a thorough understanding of the various functions of the Zebra Technologies organization to include theory and practical application of attained knowledge.

     

    Project work will differ in each area depending on business needs, and all interns will participate in the US Zebra Internship Program. The program is designed to provide you with a full experience so that you can fully envision a career with Zebra. You be positioned for success with training, exposure to all parts of the business, social activities, a professional mentor relationship and development sessions to help you discover your own performance edge!

     

    The intern will develop and implement various systems and processes within the quality operations & systems group. The results from these systems will capture and transform data into information and allow management to make fact-based decision making.  The results from processes will support Zebra initiatives such as protecting intellectual property protection and data security.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities: 

    • Develops Systems for quality operations & systems by evaluating commercially available products and conducting make vs. buy analyses.
    • Develops and maintains a information tools that
      • a) enables global use to enter & modify data
      • b) extract data and transform into information that provides tangible, unbiased, accurate facts & metrics.
    • Recommends new and/or improved reports and processes.
    • Improves efficiencies in processes, meetings and information delivery.
    • Working with IT, provides system for the recording, tracking, and reporting of corrective and preventive actions.
    • Works with the appropriate business functions to develop methodologies to extract field intelligence on suppliers’ performance and improvement actions.
    • Participate as a team member in initiatives such as protecting intellectual property protection and data security.
    • Maintain existing quality systems & operations information tools such as Smart Sheet Travel Tracker, Quality SharePoint Site, etc.
    • Performs other position relevant duties as assigned.

     

    Qualifications

    • Current enrollment in an undergraduate/graduate degree program in a discipline related to the project specifics. If an undergraduate, must be at the junior or senior level.
    • Intellectual curiosity with a strong desire to learn and grow
    • Proven leadership and excellence in professional, academic and/or extracurricular experiences
    • Strong problem-solving abilities
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Ability to collaborate as part of a team
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, & PowerPoint)
    • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship
    • Knowledge of Quality Assurance program problem solving tools, statistical methodologies, and Lean Six Sigma
    • High level computer literacy
    • Working knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plan, Process Flow Chart, 8 Discipline Report
